A beta version of ScreepT is now available at the link above, just download the zip (the last one is always recommended, but you can always update it later from the built-in updater). Now extract the zip, enter the folder and see the next chapter for how to startup 🙂

But first: what is ScreepT? What are the aims of this software? Let’s take a look 🙂

  • ScreepT includes a text editor, with support for many features including:
    • Syntax highlighting (main coding languages such as Java, C, C++, C#, Javascript, Html, Css, Scala, Xml, and much more!);
    • Color scheme with a set of default themes to choose from, with possibility to load your own xml theme;
    • Autocompletion, with support for some of the given languages – this funcionality is still in development;
    • Basic find/replace/gotoLine dialogs;
    • Special charachters escaper, with compatibility modes for Javascript, Html, xml and Java;
    • File external changes monitor;
    • Many useful keyBoard shortcuts, described in user guide section;

    • Templates management, and possibility to easily define your own code snippets, and reuse them everywhere you want;
    • Image to Text parsing;
    • Pdf to Text parsing;
    • Text speaker – English only (For now…);
    • Text Crypter/Decrypter with possibility to use Base 64, AES 128 bit, or even AES 128 bit combined with “ScreepT” algorithm, with possibility to use keyBased sorting, improving code strenght;
    • Modular hideable panels, with draggable dividers;
    • Responsive layout;
    • … and much More!
ScreepT – the built-in crypt/decrypt manager
  • Screept has a built-in FileCrypter that you can use to encrypt or decrypt your files or folders, by creating cripted (or decripted) copies, without modifiyng original file.
    With this crypter you can choose betwen 5 different modes:
    • AES only (Text key);
    • STEG only (.PNG key);
    • STEG only shuffle bytes (.PNG key + key based shuffle) ;
    • AES + STEG (Text key + .PNG key);
    • AES + STEG – shuffle bytes (Text key + .PNG key + key based shuffle);
ScreepT – Launcher
  • Screept does not need any installer, cause it’s a fully mobile application. Furthermore, it’s written with java language so it’s potentially runnable everywhere (for now it’s available for windows only, linux and MacOs versions are not ready yet, but thery’re planned to come out soon) 🙂
  • (*) take into account that only JVM between 1.8 and 11 are fully supported!
Launcher – Launch settings
  • Screept has a built-in configuration manager, with which you can save your preferred options, workspaces, graphical elements positions, text area configurations, last directories used, and many more! You can enable auto-save and specify the exact period of time that software will use as timeout to automatically backup your actual configuration. Furthermore, you can even export/import/load/reset your preferred configurations 🙂
  • Screept has a built-in minimal web browser, implemented to give an internal way to navigate into user help and documentation. NO file is loaded from the internet, only local readme.html file will be used to do so (with it’s relative .css file).
